Mamers – the Triple Crown

I have been travelling to Mamers for 40 years (!) but never has there been such a week.  

First the Tour de France flew through rue du Fort, the main artery through the town.

And then they were gone.

Then, the very next day was 14^th July, the national day.  So we had fireworks at the Plan d'eau.  I tried to capture the excitement with my phone, but this was all I could grab.

And the cream on the cake was the French world cup win – anticipated, watched and celebrated in Place Carnot – the main market square of Mamers.

Never has there been a week of greater excitement in Mamers.
